PEDRO PAN opened in Long Island City at The Chain Theatre on February 1, 2014. PEDRO PAN was commissioned and produced by The TRUF Theatre Company. The cast featured Luis E. Mora as Pedro, Joey Lozada as Roger, Destinee Rea McGinnis as Wendy, Taylor Ferrera as Tia Lily, and Rebecca Aparicio as Mami. The production was directed by Rebecca Aparicio, choreographed by Alexis Rheinhart and Jason Styres. Lighting design and Stage Management: Katie Kennedy. Set designs and projections: Guillermo Laporta. The original PEDRO PAN band included Stephen Anthony Elkins on piano, Bill Goffi on bass, and Theo Metz on percussion.
In 2017, PEDRO PAN won the NEW YORK MUSICAL FESTIVAL READING AWARD guaranteeing them a spot in the 2018 Festival and a $5,000 subsidy towards that production.
